Compassionate afterlife care for every companion. Perkins offers private and communal pet cremation with pickup, and dropoff options across Wilmington & the Cape Fear Region.
There are a two ways to bring your pet into our care. You are always welcome to come to us yourself (no appointment needed),
or we can come to you. If your pet has passed at a veterinary office, we can coordinate there as well.
Bring Them to Us
Drop Off
You are always welcome to bring your companion to us yourself, at a time that feels right for you - no appointment is required. We
will take them gently into our care the moment you arrive, and there is never an additional charge to
drop off.

No additional costCared for the moment you arriveWelcome during open hours
If transporting your companion feels like too much, we will come to you and bring them into our care.
Your pet is lifted with a purpose built pet stretcher into one of our SUVs and inside they are laid comfortably with the bedding you send with us our the pillows and blankets we carry with us. Pets picked up by us are never laided in the
open bed of a truck.
Your quote is based on your pet's size and your location, and we work out the timing together over the
phone. Our usual reach is within an hour's drive from Wilmington, and a call earlier in the day could possibly
stretch that a little farther. Pickups take place during our open hours, so they are time sensitive, and
we are not able to offer overnight pickup.
If you have chosen a Private Cremation, we return your pet's cremains right back to your door as part of the service.

Many families like to send something familiar along. We are glad to keep these close to your pet.
A favorite bed is welcome, and toys, flowers, and a beloved rubber ball are all encouraged.
Anything placed with your pet should be clean and free of contaminants.
Collars are usually removed and set aside, but if one is left on, it can be easily returned to you.
Anything you would like back is confirmed with you and returned.
Coming From Your Veterinarian
If your pet has passed at a veterinary office, we can collect them directly from the vet. With a Private
Cremation, we return their cremains to that same office for you to gather when you are ready.
For our partner veterinary practices, we coordinate the details directly, so your family has less to
manage during a tender time.
Not sure which option is right for you? We are glad to talk it through, with no pressure and no obligation.
Once your companion is in our care, there are two thoughtful ways to lay them to rest. Whichever you
choose, the same gentle, hands on attention goes into every step.
Ashes Returned to You
Individual Cremation
Private Cremation
A Private Cremation ensures that only your pet's cremains are returned to you. Their cremains are
placed and sealed in a Rosewood urn, its top carved with the Tree of Life and its front personalized
with your pet's name.
Your package also includes a clay paw print and a lock of their hair, along with a Cremation Certificate
and a sympathy card. Everything is placed with care inside a sturdy keepsake box personalized with your
pet's name.

Our Burials at Sea take place off Wrightsville Beach at 34.15003N, 77.71961W.
Group Cremation
Communal Cremation
In a Communal Cremation, your pet is cremated alongside two or three other pets, and their cremains are not
returned to the family. Instead, they are laid to rest gently during one of our burials at sea during a beautiful day off
the coast of Wrightsville Beach.
Our burials at sea take place regularly and lawfully at sea, at least three nautical miles from land as the
Federal Clean Water Act requires. Because they happen on the open water, they are weather dependent, so
the exact timing is not consistent and follows safe conditions out at sea.

Both Private and Communal Cremations are priced by your pet's weight, so every family pays for what is
right for their own companion and nothing more. We keep it simple, with no obligation and no hidden fees.
Reach out whenever you are ready and we will walk you through a clear, no pressure quote.
The same standard of attention goes into every cremation, from the moment your pet arrives until they
are returned to you.

Every cremation follows a federally regulated process, carried out on purpose built equipment by certified, trained operators.
